Swap, Bridge & Buy
Understand how in-wallet token swaps, cross-chain bridging, and buying crypto work inside iCloser. These actions are executed through licensed third-party providers — iCloser supplies the interface and remains non-custodial.
How Swap, Bridge & Buy work in iCloser
Swap, Bridge, and Buy are convenience features inside the wallet. iCloser displays quotes and lets you start an order, but the trade, conversion, or purchase is carried out by licensed third-party providers. iCloser is a non-custodial technology platform and does not custody your funds; assets stay under your control in your self-custody wallet except for the moment they are routed through the provider to complete the action you confirm.
Exchange one token for another, typically on the same network — for example USDT to POL.
Move a supported asset from one chain to another, such as USDT from Ethereum to Polygon.
Acquire supported crypto through a provider-supported purchase flow, where available.
Swapping tokens inside your wallet
A swap exchanges one token for another. Most swaps happen on a single network, so you still need the native gas token for that chain to confirm the transaction.
Choose the token you are selling and the token you want to receive. Confirm both are on the network you expect.
The app shows an indicative rate, estimated receive amount, provider fee, and network gas. The quote may expire and need refreshing.
Swaps on Polygon need POL, on Ethereum need ETH, and on BNB Chain need BNB. Without gas, the swap cannot submit.
Review every value on the confirmation screen. Once confirmed, on-chain execution is generally irreversible.
Bridging assets across chains
Bridging moves a supported asset from one blockchain to another. Because two networks are involved, processing can take longer than a same-chain swap and may require gas on the source chain.
For example, send USDT from Ethereum to Polygon. Confirm the asset is supported on both chains by the provider.
Bridge quotes include the provider fee and an estimated arrival time. Cross-chain settlement can take from minutes to longer depending on network conditions.
The asset leaves the source chain first, then arrives on the destination chain. Do not retry if the status is still in progress.
Buying crypto
Where available, the Buy flow lets you acquire supported crypto through a provider-supported purchase. Availability, supported assets, payment methods, limits, and any identity checks are set by the third-party provider and your jurisdiction.
The Buy option may not appear for every account or region. It is shown when the provider supports your location and profile.
Pricing, fees, and any verification requirements are governed by the licensed provider's own terms, shown during the flow.
Gas and network notes
Swap and bridge actions are on-chain transactions, so they consume the native gas token of the network they run on. If an action will not submit, the most common cause is missing gas.
| Network | Gas token | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Ethereum | ETH | Gas can be higher; keep some ETH for swaps and bridges. |
| Polygon | POL | USDT on Polygon cannot move without POL for gas. |
| BNB Chain | BNB | Actions cannot submit without BNB for gas. |
Common questions
Does iCloser hold my funds during a swap or bridge?
No. iCloser is non-custodial and does not custody customer funds. Swap, Bridge, and Buy are executed by licensed third-party providers; iCloser provides the interface and the assets remain associated with your self-custody wallet.
Who sets the rate and fee?
The third-party provider sets the rate and fee, shown as an indicative quote before you confirm. Quotes can expire and may change between attempts.
Why did my swap fail to submit?
The most common reason is not enough native gas token on that network — POL for Polygon, ETH for Ethereum, BNB for BNB Chain. Add gas and try again.
Why don't I see the Buy option?
Buy availability depends on the provider supporting your jurisdiction and account. If it is not shown, the provider may not support your location at this time.
Is a bridge instant?
No. Cross-chain bridging involves two networks and can take from minutes to longer depending on network conditions. Wait for both legs to complete before retrying.
